برقية زيمرمان
تلغراف زمرمان Zimmermann Telegram، هواقتراح دبلوماسي في عام 1917 من الامبراطورية الألمانية إلى المكسيك، لدخول الحرب العالمية الأولى في صف المحور لقاء استعادتها ولايات تكساس ونيومكسيكووأريزونا. وتم اعتراض البرقية وفك الشفرة من قبل المخابرات البحرية البريطانية ونـُشرت على العامة مما أدى إلى غضب الرأي العام الأمريكي وإعلان الولايات المتحدة الحرب على ألمانيا في أبريل.
البرقية أُرسِلت كتلغراف مشفر من وزير الخارجية للامبراطورية الألمانية، آرتور زيمرمان، في 16 يناير، 1917، إلى السفير الألماني في المكسيك، هاينرش فون إكرت. زيمرمان أوفد البرقية، لأنه كان يتسقط حتى تستأنف ألمانيا حرب الغواصات بشكل غير محدود في 1 فبراير. وهوالعمل الذي تسقطت ألمانيا حتى يؤدي إلى الحرب. وقد تضمنت البرقية تعليمات للسفير إكرت أنه إذا بدا حتى الولايات المتحدة، بالتأكيد، ستدخل الحرب، فإن عليه حتى يتقدم بالعرض إلى الحكومة المكسيكية، مصحوباً باقتراح حلف عسكري وتمويل من ألمانيا. ويتضمن الاقتراح وعداً للمكسيك باستعادة الأراضي المفقودة في تكساس، نيومكسيكو، وأريزونا. كما تضمنت التعليمات لإكرت حتى يناشد المكسيك حتى تتوسط لعقد تحالف بين ألمانيا واليابان. ولما كانت المكسيك ليست نداً عسكرياً للولايات المتحدة، فقد تجاهلت العرض الألماني، وبعد حتى دخلت الولايات المتحدة الحرب رسمياً، قامت المكسيك رسمياً برفض العرض الألماني.
