أمبروز گوينت بيرس Ambrose Bierce (24 يونيو1842 – ح. 1914) هومحرر سيرة قصيرة، صحفي، شاعر أمريكي وأحد قدامى المحاربين في الحرب الأهلية.
كان كتابه، قاموس الشيطان، ضمن "أعظم 100 رائعة من روائعة العمل الأمريكي" حسب ادارة الذكرى المئوية الثانية للثورة الأمريكية. أما قصته "حادثة على كسر أول كريك" فقد وصفت على أنها "واحدة من أكثر القصص شهرة ونشراً بشكل متكرر في الأدب الأمريكي"؛ وكتابه "روايات الجنود والمدنيين (نُشرت أيضاً باسم "في منتصف العمر") أدرجها گولير كلوب واحدة من الخط الأمريكية المائة الأكثر تأثيراً قبل عام 1900.
