Uttarakhand was formed by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000 with the bifurcation of erstwhile Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2000. Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand. The town of Gairsain is envisaged as the state's new capital. 70 seats are open for the direct election while 1 seat is reserved for the member of Anglo Indian community. |
اوتاراخـُند Uttarakhand (هندي: उत्तराखंड )، هي ولاية في الجزء الشمالي من الهند. وقد اقتطعت من مقاطعات الهيمالايا وما جاورها في ولاية اوتار پرادش فيتسعة نوفمبر 2000، لتصبح الولاية رقم 27 في جمهورية الهند . ويحدها جمهورية الصين الشعبية من الشمال، نـِپال من الشرق، والولايات الهندية اوتار پرادش من الجنوب، هاريانا من الغرب وهيماچل پرادش من الشمال الغربي.
