ماري ستڤنسون كاسات Mary Stevenson Cassatt، (تـُنطق /kəˈsæt/; 22 مايو1844 – 14 يونيو1926)، هي رسامة أمريكية. قضت جل حياتها في فرنسا، وكانت عضوًا في حركة الانطباعيين الفرنسيين في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر. استخدمت كاسات ألوانًا خفيفة براقة وضربات فرشاة تخطيطية لإحداث تأثير ما تراه العين في النظرة الخاطفة، مثلها – في ذلك – مثل أصدقائها من الانطباعيين الفرنسيين. ورسمت كاسات مشاهد لأناس منهمكين في أنشطة الحياة اليومية العادية، واشتهرت برسوماتها حول لحظات السلام والهناء والحب التي تتقاسمها الأمهات مع أطفالهن الصغار، بجانب قيامها برسم مشاهد لنساء يتناولن الشاي أويطالعن بهدوء أويخطن رسائل. انظر: الانطباعية.
حياتها
ولدت كاسات في مدينة أليگني (جزء من بتسبيرج الآن) بولاية بنسلفانيا الأمريكية، ودرست بأكاديمية بنسلفانيا للفنون الجميلة من عام 1861م وحتى 1865م، واستقرت في فرنسا في عام 1866م، وعاشت هناك بقية حياتها.
الانطباعية
بدأت كاسات الرسم بأسلوب الانطباعيين في أواخر سبعينيات القرن التاسع عشر، وشاركت في أول معرض مع جماعة الانطباعيين في عام 1879م. وكان إدجار ديجا أقرب صديق لكاسات من بين الانطباعيين، وأثر بقوة في أسلوبها في الرسم. وكانت كاسات تميل إلى البساطة وعدم التكلف في رسوماتها كثيرًا، وترتب بنية أعمالها بكيفية تبدوأقرب إلى الحياة.
استحدثت كاسات في التسعينيات من القرن التاسع عشر سلسلة من الصور المطبوعة الرائعة. وتبرز هذه الصور ـ بخطوطها وأشكالها المبسطة المسطحة ـ تأثرها بالفنانين اليابانيين في الحفر على الخشب. وعلاوة على أهميتها كرسامة، أدت كاسات دورًا أساسيًا في إقناع جامعي اللوحات الأمريكيين بشراء الأعمال الفنية الانطباعية.

- Mary Cassatt inspired many Canadian women artists who were members of the Beaver Hall Group.
- The was a World War II Liberty ship, launched May 16, 1943.
- A quartet of young Juilliard string musicians formed the all-female Cassatt Quartet in 1985, named in honor of the painter. In 2009, the award-winning group recorded String Quartets Nos. 1-3 (Cassatt String Quartet) by composer Dan Welcher; the 3rd quartet on the album was written inspired by the work of Mary Cassatt as well.
- In 1966, Cassatt's painting The Boating Party was reproduced on a US postage stamp. Later she was honored by the United States Postal Service with a 23¢ Great Americans series postage stamp.
- On May 22, 2009, she was honored by a Google logo in recognition of her birthday.
- Cassatt's paintings have sold for as much as $2.9 million.
