معركة إنچون
معركة إنچون (بالكورية: 인천 상륙 작전، Incheon Sangnyuk Jakjeon) كان غزواً برمائياً ومعركة في الحرب الكورية، أسفر عن نصر حاسم وقلب استراتيجي مجرى الأحداث في الحرب لصالح الولايات المتحدة. العملية ضمت 75,000 جندي و261 سفينة حربية من القوات الأمريكية بإنزال في مؤخرة الجيش الكوري الشمالي بمنطقة إنچون. آنذاك كانت قوات كوريا الشمالية قد استولت على شبه الجزيرة بكاملها تقريبا. ولم يبق بأيدي القوات الموالية للأمريكيين سوى رأس جسر بسيط. إلا حتى الإنزال الأمريكي المباغت بقيادة الجنرال مكارثر غيّر موازين القوى تماماً. فبدأ الهجوم الأمريكي الحثيث الذي سرعان ما أسفر عن الاعادة الاستيلاء على عاصمة كوريا الجنوبية، سول، زمن ثم تحرير كوريا الجنوبية بأجمعها. الاسم الرمزي للعملية كان العملية كروميت Operation Chromite.
قوات الأمم المتحدة تقدمت شمالاً بالقرب من نهر يالولينتهي هذا التقدم بتدخل الجيش الصيني الشعبي المتطوع في الصراع وإرسال الآف الجنود الصينيين لدعم كوريا الشمالية ليقوموا باجتياح قوات الأمم المتحدة على طول نهر چونگچون Ch'ongch'on وإجبارها على الانسحاب إلى كوريا الجنوبية بعد معركة خزان تشوسين Chosin Reservoir.
