متروسكا هي حدثة من اللغة الإنجليزية مشتقة من الحدثة الروسية «ماتريوشكا (بالروسية: матрёшка [mɐˈtrʲoʂkə]) , التى تعنى الدمية ماتريوشكا|تداخل دمية]] ( دمية روسية مشهجرة على شكل أسطواني داخل دمية، المعروفة أيضا باسم دمية بابوشكا). هذا هواللعب على المحتوى (وسائل الإعلام داخل نموذج من وسائل الاعلام / دمية داخل الدمية) جانب من جوانب ماتريوشكا كما هووعاء للبيانات البصرية والسمعية. إذا الحروف فضفاضة ويمكن حتى تكون مربكة للمتحدثين الروس ، (بالروسية: матроска)وهى في الواقع تشير إلى بذلة بحار.
التاريخ
واتى الاعلان عن المشروع فيستة ديسمبر 2002كشوكة (تطوير البرمجيات) من حاوية تنسيق الوسائط المتعددة(MCF) ، بعد خلافات بين قيادة MCF المطور الأساسى لاسي Kärkkäinen وقريبا مؤسس متروسكا ستيف Lhomme عن استخدام توسيع لغة ميتا ثنائي (EBML) بدلا من تنسيق ثنائي .[] وتزامن ذلك مع فترة انقطاع طويلة من الترميز المطور سببه المؤسس الأساسى ل MCF's لاسي Kärkkäinen ، والتى من خلالها إنتقل معظم المجتمع بسرعة إلى المشروع الجديد .[]

Hardware support
Asus
The O!Play family of set-top media players support Matroska container.
Oppo
Two of OPPO Digital's Blu-ray players, the BDP-83 and BDP-80, support Matroska files streamed over the network, or from USB.
Samsung
Starting in 2009 Samsung added Matroska support to its Blu-ray players, and from series أربعة to seriesسبعة of its HDTVs. Also the mobile phone Samsung Wave S8500 is capable of playing Matroska files.
LG
LG has added Matroska support to Blu-ray players[] and to select HDTVs.
Sharp
The Sharp AQUOS Quattron range of LED/LCD TV's have .mkv support via their USB input.
Other Blu-ray players
The Allure 500-BD Blu-ray player, a house brand sold by Rick Hart and Clive Peeters stores in Australia, plays Matroska files.
The Samsung BDP-3600 supports it with firmware 2.02 and above. The new Samsung BDP-3200 model also supports it.
The Cambridge Audio azure 650BD plays Matroska files. Along with the Oppo models, this player offers a 'high-end' grade of stand-alone player and has two FAT-32 USB inputs. Dolby Digital and DTS audio is supported when playing via USB, but not DTS-HD or Dolby Digital HD. For large files, the transition from one file (max 4GB) to the next is quite disruptive - far slower than what you get with a Sony PS3 when playing .m2ts files for example.
Sigma Designs
Sigma Designs produces systems-on-chip for OEMs. Several of the devices which use these chips support the Matroska format. Examples are:

Archos
The Archosخمسة Internet Tablet (Google Android based) supports the Matroska container. It is the first Archos portable media device to do so.[]
RAmos
The RAmos T11RK and T12 portable media players support the Matroska container. Multiple embedded subtitles are supported in the .srt format, as are multiple audio tracks, in AC3, AAC, MP3 or DTS. They are both based on the Rockchip RK2806 chipset.[]
Popcorn Hour
The two most recent products from NMT and Sybas Technology are the C-200 and the A-200, both of which are fully compatible with the Matroska container.
Nokia
The Nokia N8 has Matroska format compatibility out of the box. It plays Matroska up to 720p.
Roku
The Roku USB Media Player channel on the Roku Player supports Matroska up to 1080p at 24/30fps.
License
CoreCodec owns the copyrights and trademarks for the Matroska specification, but the specifications are open to everybody. The Matroska project is an open standard which is free to use and the technical specifications are available for private and commercial use. The Matroska development team licenses its libraries under the LGPL, with parsing and playback libraries available under BSD licenses.

Even if they happen to be known (and even if this occurs through information published by the manufacturer itself) there is normally no guarantee that they will remain the same with different releases of the hardware.
