3 فبراير - معركة ديو: البرتغاليون يبيدون Indian-Egyptian-Arab fleet in the Battle of Diu , the Indian Viceroy Francisco de Almeida can avenge the death of his son last year and secures the naval rule of Portugal in the Indian Ocean for over a century and ends the epoch of the Egyptian Mamelukes as a hegemonic power in this room. The Portuguese Almeida Francisco won a decisive victory over the fleets of the Sultan of Egypt and Zamorin of Calicut , eliminating the fleet Mamluk with their artillery and giving the Portuguese maritime superiority in the Indian Ocean . They occupy the city.
- The Portuguese navigator Diogo Lopes de Sequeira undertakes a trip to Malacca with the task of establishing trade relations with Sultan Mahmud, but returns without success.
