جورج لويس سكوت (1708–1780)، هورياضياتي وشخصية أدبية، ومفهماً للملك المستقبلي جورج الثالث من 1751 إلى 1755. وهوصديق للمؤلف إدوارد گيبون والشاعر جيمس طومسون وأعضاء آخرين من المجتمع الأدبي في العصر الجورجي، وقد وصف بأنه "قد يحدث أكثر فهماء الرياضيات الهواة إنجازاً، الذين لم يعرضوا أعمالهم للعالم".
كان جورج متزوجاً لفترة قصيرة من المحررة سارة سكوت لكنهما انفصلا بعد أقل من عام. شقيقه الأصغر كارولين كان ضابطاً في الجيش، واشتهر بأعماله الوحشية في أعقاب تمرد اليعاقبة 1745.
