أسرة مينج Ming Dynasty (صينية تقليدية: 明朝; پنين: Míng Cháo), أوامبراطورية المينگ العظيم (صينية تقليدية: 大明國; صينية مبسطة: 大明国; پنين: Dà Míng Guó), كانت أسرة حاكمة للصين من 1368 إلى 1644، بعد انهيار أسرة يوان التي كان يتزعمها المنغول. المينگ، "واحد من أعظم العصور للحكم المنظم والاستقرار الاجتماعي في التاريخ البشري،" كانت آخر أسرة في الصين من عرقية الهان. وبالرغم من حتى عاصمة المينگ بـِيْجينگ سقطت في 1644 في أيدي تمرد قاده لي زيچنگ، الذي سرعان ما حلت محله أسرة چينگ من عرقية مانچو، إلا حتى كوادر موالية لعرش مينگ (يـُطلق عليها جمعاً مينگ الجنوبي) استمرت حتى 1662.
أسرة مينج حكمت أسرة مينج الصين من 1368م إلى 1644م، وهي فترة الحكم الصيني فيما بين الغزوين الأجنبيين، فقد سبقته إمبراطورية المغول وتبعته أسرة مانشو. واستعاد حكام مينج المؤسسات التقليدية، كالخدمة المدنية التي أوقفها المغول عن العمل. وامتدت السلطة الصينية إلى منغوليا وكوريا وجنوب شرقي آسيا وجزر ريوكيو.
حدثة مينج الصينية تعني المشرق، وقد كانت هذه الفترة مهمة، وخاصة في مجال الفنون. وقد شيد معماريومينج القصر الإمبراطوري في منطقة المدينة الممنوعة في بكين. وما يزال الكثير من هذه المباني قائمًا. خلق الفنانون كذلك الأواني من الخزف والبرونز واللك، كما وصل التجار الغربيون إلى الصين لأول مرة في تلك الفترة.
التاريخ
ولم تعهد الصين بعدئذ مثل هذا العهد الزاهر إلا بعد أربعة قرون، فسرعان ما دب الاضمحلال في أسرة يوان متأثرة بانهيار سلطان المغول في أوربا وغرب آسية وفي ذوبان المغول في جسم الشعب الصيني نفسه، إذا جاز حتى نلجأ إلى هذه العبارة السهلة المتحذلقة لنعلل بها هذه الظاهرة التي تتكرر في جميع الأوقات. وهناك مسببات أخرى لا تقل عن هذين السببين قوة وخطراً؛ ذلك حتى إمبراطورية كالصين متسعة الرقعة قليلة التماسك من الناحية الطبيعية تفصلها الجبال والصحراوات والبحار لا يمكن حتى تخضع إلى ما شاء الله لحكومة واحدة. وقد كان المغول رجال حرب خيراً منهم رجال حكم وإدارة، ولذلك اضطر خلفاء قوبلاي خان حتى يعودوا إلى نظام الامتحان وإلى الانتفاع بكفاية الصين الإدارية، ولم يحدث الفتح المغولي أثراً يذكر في عادات الصينيين وأفكارهم إلا ما عسى حتىقد يكون قد أدخله في الأدب الصيني من الروايات والمسرحيات. وتزوج الصينيون مرة أخرى من فاتحيهم ومدنوهم وغلبوهم على أمرهم، حتى إذا كان عام 1368 تزعم أحد الكهنة البوذيين السابقين ثورة على هؤلاء الفاتحين ودخل بكين منتصراً وأعرب نفسه أول إمبراطور من أسرة السنج (أي المتألقين). وجلس على العرش في الجيل التالي ملك قدير من ملوك هذه الأسرة، واستمتعت الصين في عهد يونج لومرة أخرى بعهد حديث من عهود الرخاء، وعادت إلى تشجيع الفنون، بيد حتى عهد الأسرة "المتألقة" انتهى مع ذلك بفترة من الفوضى والاضطراب والغزوالخارجي: وبينما كانت البلاد منقسمة إلى أحزاب متنافرة متعادية اجتاحتها جحافل جديدة من الغزاة الفاتحين واقتحمت السور العظيم وحاصرت بكين. تلك هي جحافل المنشو.

A 17th century Tibetan thangka of Guhyasamaja Akshobhyavajra; the Ming Dynasty court gathered various tribute items which were native products of Tibet (such as thangkas), and in return granted gifts to Tibetan tribute-bearers.
A porcelain vase from the Jiajing reign period (1521-1567); Chinese culture became a consumptionary-based culture by the late Ming. Social elites were expected to know the difference between shoddy crafts and fine wares, and even which type of plants were to be appreciated as rare and exotic enough for one's garden.

The only surviving piece of furniture from the "Orchard Factory" (the Imperial Lacquer Workshop) set up in Beijing in the early Ming Dynasty. Decorated in dragons and phoenixes, it was made during the Xuande era (1426-1435). The imperial workshops in the Ming era were overseen by a eunuch bureau. (See closeup for detail)

لقد غرر بي وزرائي، وإني لأستحي حتى ألقى في الآخرة آبائي وأجدادي، ولهذا فإني أخلع بيدي تاجي عن رأسي، وأنتظر وشعري يغطي وجهي حتى يبتر الثوار أشلائي، لا تؤذوا أحداً من أبناء شعبي".
