• 5 فبراير: papal bulls confirming the Frankfurt Concordat of 1446. Pope Eugene IV receives the delegates of sixty German princes who have come to make their submission, provided he recognizes the superiority of the councils over the pope. Eugene IV gives them satisfaction by declaring that he "embraces and venerates the Council of Constance , the Decree Frequens and all its decrees, like all the other councils which represent the militant Catholic Church. A few days later he published a bull in which he said he had not wanted by his concessions to derogate from the authority and privileges of the Roman siege. He dies ( February 23) and Cardinal Tommaso Parentuccelli succeeds him. He confirmed March 28 the concessions made by his predecessor to the Germansسبعة .

• The Tibetan astronomer Phugpa Lhündrub Gyatsho completes his most important work padma dkar po'i zhal lung ( instruction of the (King of Shambhala) Pema Karpo ). In it he reconstructs the true astronomy and calendar calculation taught by the Buddha according to the Tibetan tradition and later allegedly falsified in the Kālacakratantra . This will provide the basis for a computing system that will govern many Tibetan astronomers for the creation of the Tibetan calendar, calculating solar and lunar eclipses, and calculating the motion of planets, including the sun and moon, over many centuries.
