Idan Ofer (بالعبرية: עידן עופר; born 1955) is a London-based Israeli business magnate and philanthropist, with interests in shipping, drilling and mining. He is the founder of Tanker Pacific and the Principal of the Quantum Pacific Group, a holding company. He is the majority shareholder of Pacific Drilling, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and the Israel Corporation, listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, as well as Kenon Holdings, listed on both stock exchanges. He made the largest donation to a British business school ever in 2013.

Idan Ofer was born in 1955. His father, Sammy Ofer, was an Israeli shipping magnate originally from Romania. His mother, Aviva Ofer, lives in London. He has a brother, Eyal Ofer.

Ofer controls Mashat Investments Ltd., which holds 80% of the capital of "Millennium Investments Elad." Idan Ofer served in the past as chairman of the company Better Place , which establishes operating infrastructures and support for electric vehicles , which he established together with an entrepreneur the high-tech Shai Agassi . In addition, he served as chairman of United Mizrahi Bank (which in 2005 became Mizrahi Tefahot Bank ).

- Through his holdings in the Israel Corporation (50%), Ofer controls a variety of companies, such as Israel Chemicals (52%) and the Oil Refineries . In addition, he has holdings in Canon, which holds Zim (98%) and Cherry Quantum (45%), a joint venture with the Chinese company Chery .
Personal life
He has been married four times. His fourth and current wife is Batia Ofer, a philanthropist, who serves on the advisory board of Sotheby's. He has five children. They resided in Arsuf, near Tel Aviv, until 2013. His daughter, Leigh Ofer resides in NYC; the rest of his children currently reside in London.
