سفينة شراعية sailing ship، هومصطلح يستخدم لوصف السفينة التي تبحر بواسطة الشراع.

باختراع الشراع، برز النمط الأساسي للسفن، واكتمل بروزه باختراع السفن المصنوعة من الكتل الخشبية السميكة. وفي خلال الـ 5,000 سنة التالية لتلك الفترة، ركَّز بنّاؤوالسفن على تصميم سفن ذات أحجام أكبر، كما ركَّزوا على تطوير أدوات السفن، الأشرعة بصواريها وحبالها. ونجح بنَّاؤوالسفن في الأزمان الغابرة في بناء سفن كبيرة الأحجام لكنهم نجحوا بقدر أقل في تطوير أدوات السفينة. إذا التطويرات المهمة في جهاز السفن بدأت في القرن الخامس عشر الميلادي، ووصلت إلى درجة عالية مع بروز السفن الشراعية الكبيرة في أواسط القرن التاسع عشر الميلادي.
