رالف فون وليامز
رالف (تــُنطـَق /ˈreɪf/) Vaughan Williams OM (12 October 1872 - 26 أغسطس 1958) هومؤلف موسيقى إنجليزى للسيمفونيات, وموسيقى الحجرة, والأوبرا, وموسيقى الكورال, و تحرير النصوص للأفلام . وكان يعمل على جمع الموسيقى الشعبية الإنجليزية و اغنية وهذا له أثر أيضا على نهج التحرير لكتاب التراتيل الانجليزية ، والتي بدأت في 1904 ، الكثير من الأغاني الشعبية التي وضعت الترتيبات ولترنيمة الانغام ، إضافة إلى الكثير من مكونات الأعمال الأصلية.
حياته
السنين المبكرة

وكدارس للموسيقى , فقد تفهم البيانو, " الذى نطق أنه لن يستطيع العزف عليه إطلاقا, وتفهم أيضا آلة الفيولينة, التى كانت له ملاذا في الموسيقى." بعد مدرسة شارتر هاوس جاء الكلية الملكية للموسيقى (RCM) تحت تشارلز فيليرز ستانفورد. وتفهم التاريخ والموسيقى في كلية ترينتى, كامبريدج, وعند اصدقائه وضمت الفلاسفة المعاصرين جورج ادوارد مور وبرتراند راسل. ثم عاد الى الكلية الملكية للموسيقى حيث تفهم التأليف الموسيقى مع هوبرت بارى, الذى أصبح صديقا له . واحد من زملاؤه الطلاب في الكلية الملكية للموسيقى هوليوبولد ستكوفسكى وفي خلال 1896 فقد درسا معا الأرغن على يد والتر بارات. وفيما بعد مضى ستوكوفسكى لعزفستة من سيمفونيات فون وليامز للجمهور الأميريكى , وتم عمل أول تسجيل السيمفونية السادسة وفي 1949 مع أوركسترا نيويورك الفلهارمونية , وقد منح الأميريكيون. حفل الإفتتاح السيمفونية التاسعة في قاعة كارنيجى في 1958.
