سلاح دمار شامل
سلاح الدمار الكامل (س د ش) هوسلاح بإمكانه اغتال اعداد هائلة من الناس والحيوانات والنباتات. ويغطى المصطلح انواع عديدة من الأسلحة من بينها النووية والبيولوجية والكيمائية (ن ب ك) وزاد على ذلك الاسلحةالموجية (الموجات الكهرومغناطيسية ). وهناك خلاف حول متى استخدم هذا المصطلح لأول مرة فإما انه في عام 1937 (حين سقط القصف الجوى لمدينة گرنيكا باسبانيا) أوفي عام 1945 (حين أسقطت الطائرات الامريكية أول قنبلتين ذريتين في التاريخ على المدينتين اليابانيتين هيروشيما ونگازاكي). وبعد وقوع ذلك ومع بداية الحرب الباردة والتقدم خلالها أصبح المصطلح يشير أكثر الى الاسلحة المحرمة الاستخدام دوليا. ودخل المصطلح حيز الاستعمال الشائع مرتبطا بالغزوالامريكى للعراق عام 2003.

The symbol used today as the biohazard sign is in fact a Japanese family crest, or mon. It can be found on page 195 of the book "Japanese Design Motifs: 4,260 Illustrations of Japanese Crests" translated by Fumie Adachi and published by Dover.
