السبعونية Septuagint هي الترجمة اليونانية للعهد القديم التي تمت في القرن الثالث قبل الميلاد. حيث يذكر حتى پطليموس الثاني فيلادلفوس أراد حتى يضم إلى مخطة الإسكندرية الخط المقدسة لليهود، والبعض يرى أنه بسبب عدد اليهود الذين لا يعهدون العبرية قام اثنان وسبعون من الأحبار بالترجمة. ويرمز لها بعددها اللاتيني LXX أي سبعون.
التاريخ النصي
الجدل
اعتمد محرروالعهد الجديد على النسخة السبعينية، أما اليهود الذين هاجمهم المسيحيون بنبؤات من الترجمة السبعينية فقرروا أنها ليست سليمة وقبلوا النسخة العبرية فقط. وبما حتى الترجمة السبعينية حوت خطا لا توجد في النسخة الماسورتية مثل طوبيت والمكابيين فليس هناك اتفاق اليوم بين الطوائف على قدسية تلك الخط التي يسميها الپروتستانت (أبوكريفا).
المخطوطات
لم تظل أي مخطوطات للترجمة السبعينية تعود لما قبل الميلاد[بحاجة لمصدر]، لكن المخطوطة السينائية والفاتيكانية والإسكندرانية هي بعض المخطوطات التي تستعمل النص السبعيني.
