مملكة يهوذا
مملكة يهوذا (بالعبرية: מַלְכוּת יְהוּדָה، بالعبرية المعاصرة Malḫut Yəhuda بالطبرية ملكوت يهوده) تواجدت في فترتين من التاريخ اليهودي. فحسب التوراة، فقد قامت مملكة في يهوذا بعد وفاة شاؤول، عندما حملت قبيلة يهوذا داود، المنتمي لقبيلة يهوذا، ليصبح حاكماً عليهم. وبعد سبع سنوات أصبح داود ملكاً على مملكة إسرائيل المعاد توحيدها. أثناء تلك الفترة، أصبحت اورشاليم عاصمة المملكة الموحدة. (2 Samuel 5:6-7) إلا أنه في حوالي 930 ق.م.، انقسمت المملكة الموحدة، حين رفض عشرة من قبائل بني إسرائيل الإثنى عشر حتى يصبح حفيد داود، رحبعام ملكاً عليهم. مملكة يهوذا المعدلة كانت واحدة من الدويلات التي تلت الإنشقاق، والكيان الآخر استمر في حمل الاسم "مملكة إسرائيل"، أوإسرائيل. مملكة يهوذا، تلك، كثيراً ما يشار إليها باسم المملكة اليهودية، بينما مملكة إسرائيل التي تلت الإنشقاق يشار إليها باسم "المملكة الشمالية". استمرت يهوذا حتى 586 ق.م.، عندما هزمتها الامبراطورية البابلية بقيادة نبوذر-أدان، قائد حرس نبوخذنصر الثاني. (2 Kings 25:8-21) ومع تهجير السكان وتدمير المعبد وأورشاليم، فإن تدمير المملكة كان كاملاً.

وكان أول ملوكها رحبعام بن سليمان عليه السلام وعاصمتها القدس وقد عاشت أكثر من اختها إسرائيل وتعرضت لغزوات من الشمال والجنوب وكان آخرها على يد نبوخذ نصر ملك بابل الذي غزاها سنة 606 قبل الميلاد ، وتغلب عليها ودفعت له الجزية ، ثم ثارت مرة أُخرى فغزاها سنة 593 فسبى من شعبها عشرة الآف من بينها أعيانها وأشرافها وكنوز الهيكل ، وثارت عليه سنة 593 قبل الميلاد فأتاها هذه المرة سنة 586 ق.م. وهدم أسوارها وأحرق الهيكل وسبى اليهود إلى بابل
ويصف أحد كتاب الغربيين نهاية دولتين فيقول : ( هي سيرة نكبات ، وسيرة تحررات لا تعود عليهم إلا بإراتى نزول النكبة القاضية وهي سيرة ملوك همج يحكمون شعباً من الهمج ، حتى إذا وافت سنة 721 ق.م. محت يد الأسر الآشوري مملكة إسرائيل من الوجود ، وزال شعبها من التاريخ زوالاً تاماً ، وظلت مملكة يهوذا تكافح حتى أسقطها البابليون سنة 586 ق.م.)
