آلان ماثيسون تورنگ، OBE، FRS (
// ; 23 يونيو1912 –سبعة يونيو1954)، هورياضياتي، عالم نطق، محلل تعمية وعالم حاسوب إنگليزي، استحدث مفاهيم "خوارزمية" و"حوسبة" باستخدام آلة تورنگ، التي كان لها دوراً بارزاًً في تأسيس فهم الحاسوب المعاصر. يعتبر تورنگ أبوفهم الحاسوب والذكاء الاصنطاعي.
حياته
ولد تورنگ في مدينة لندن، ودرس الرياضيات في جامعة كمبردج البريطانية وجامعة برنستون بالولايات المتحدة. وفي خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية، استطاع تورنگ حتى يفك الشفرات الألمانية. وبعد الحرب، بدأ العمل في مشروع لبناء أول حاسوب رقمي إلكتروني بريطاني. وفي عام 1950م، اقترح تورنج إجراء اختبار لتحديد إذا كان من الممكن القول بأن الآلات تستطيع حتى تفكر، والواقع حتى هذا الاختبار الذي يُسمى اختبار تورنج، كثيرًا مايشار إليه الآن في المناقشات الخاصة باسم الذكاء الاصطناعي.
نشر في عام 1936 تورنگ حلقة درس عن "الأرقام الحسابية" التي تخيل فيها نموذج جدير بالملاحظة ولكن الملخص الجبار خلق من أجل عرض العمليات الحسابية الممكنة. ويدعى هذا الجهاز الآن آلة تورنگ والذي يتألف من شرائط تخزين غير محدودة ورأس قراءة- كتابة يتم التحكم به عن طريق مجموعة محدودة من القواعد التي تستند إلى الحالة الداخلية الحالية للتحكم والقيمة لخلية الشريط الحالية وتأتي أهمية هذا النموذج في بساطته مقارنة بجهاز الحاسوب المعقد وبالرغم من ذلك فهوقادر على تطبيق جميع خوارزمية قابلة للتطبيق بواسطة أي حاسوب متطور لذلك يمكن فهم فيماإذا كانت عملية معينة قابلة للتطبيق بواسطة الحاسوب أم لا عن طريق فحصها بواسطة آلة تورينغ وهذا ما يعهد باسم قابلية الحساب.
بعد التخرج تفهم آلان تورنگ في جامعة پرنستون من 1936 وحتى 1938 وعمل في مخط البريطانيين الأجانب وخلال الحرب العالمية الثانية لعب دوراً هاماً في تحطيم شفرات الأعداء.
في عام 1945 اتحد بالمختبر الفيزيائي الوطني في لندن وعمل في المحرك الحاسوبي الآلي حيث طور التصميم الأهم والأساسي وكانت النشرات المشروحة للحاسوب في العصر الحديث آنذاك بشكل غير متسقط أربعة كيلوبيت كحجم تخزين .

أول حاسوب واختبارات تورنگ
في عام 1948 أصبح تورنگ الوكيل الإداري للمختبر الحاسوبي في مانشستر حيث كان أول حاسب إلكتروني قابل للبرمجة وجاهز للعمل قد تم تصنيعه. كما أنه أيضاً عمل في نظريات الذكاء الصنعي وفي تطبيقات النظرية الرياضية للظواهر البيولوجية.

وفي عام 1952 ظبع نشرة عن دراساته للـMorphogenesis التطوير لنموذج وشكل الكائن الحي المعاصر (محكاة). اعتقل تورنگ لانتهاكه منظومة قوانين الشذوذ الجنسي في عام 1952.
وفاته
توفى بمادة سنيد البوتاسيوم السامة بعد سنتين أي في عام 1954. ولكن ظل عمله الفهمي نفيس جداً ولا يقدر بثمن وتماماً مثل أي درس حديث في الذكاء الصناعي وبنية نموذجية في الطبيعة لاستمراره في تطوير النظام العقدي وفهم الحاسب.
