كما يطلق عليها السومريون إسم إستر والغربيون إسم أفرديتى دمتر وهي سيدة السماء وتعتبر إلهة الحب والقتال وهي ابنة الإله آنوإله السماء أوسين إله القمر وهي كذلك حبيبة الإله تموز إله الخصب والرعي . وقد قدست في مدينة الوركاء ويلفظ إسم هذه الإلهة باللغة البابلية عشتار.
