فريدريك ليست Friedrich List اقتصادي ألماني ولد في روتلينغن- ورتنبرغ يومستة آب/أغسطس وتوفي منتحراً يوم 30 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر في كوفشتاين - النمسا.
بالرغم من حتى ليست لم يستبعد الفرضية القائلة إذا حرية التجارة يمكن حتى تقود إلى زيادة مستوى رفاهية جميع الأمم فإنه كان مقتنعاً بأن تحقق ذلك مشروط بكون مستويات نمومختلف الأمم متعادلة. وبهذا المعنى دافع ليست عن القومية الاقتصادية بأنها دفاعية وليست عدوانية على المستوى الخارجي. ومقولة ليست الرئيسة تتمثل في حتى الأمة يجب حتى تنمي طاقاتها الإنتاجية قبل حتى تقابل المنافسة الدولية. وهذه الطاقة الإنتاجية تكْمُن قبل جميع شيء في الصناعة التحويلية وليس في استخراج ما تقدمه الطبيعة.
